Last night I had my last ladies small group for the spring. It was a really great time of just sharing and prayer. I really enjoyed it.
Anyway, that has nothing to do with today's blog post...
This morning I was getting ready for work and decided I wanted to wear my flowy khaki skirt (it actually used to be Julie's). Of course, since I never iron, it was wrinkled, but I decided I'd just iron quickly and wear it. So I go downstairs and start ironing and there's not any steam coming out, so I check and yep - no water in the iron.
I saw some water left in a pink nalgene on the counter in the kitchen, so I just grab that really quickly, pour it in and get back to ironing. About 30-40 seconds later I smell a sweet caramel smell with a mix of burnt sugar. I was so confused, thinking, what in the world?! Then I realize that what I poured in the iron, was not water from the water bottle, but lemonade from Brian and I's picnic on Tuesday!!
I was so mad at myself. I ran to the sink to pour out the lemonade and try and rinse out the iron. We really like our iron, and I was so nervous I had destroyed it. I also just felt like and idiot for pouring lemonade into our iron. By the time I had rinsed the iron a few times with water, I just couldn't help but laugh. Brian came downstairs and gave me a hug and said it's ok.
I finished ironing my skirt with hopefully mostly water. I figure with the nice lemonade steam that got on my skirt I might just smell extra sweet...or maybe attract some bees today...we'll see.
Now it's just funny - pouring lemonade in our iron, instead of water. Who does that!?
