Adoption Journey update

Since October, we have been presented to Birth moms three times, but none of them were who God has planned for us. These last few months have been quite emotional and difficult for me. I never expected this journey to be so hard, and heart-wrenching.
Last night I joined a friend at a women's Christmas tea at her church. I feel like God was just encouraging me to not stop having hope in Him during this longing and waiting season me through the scripture. The speaker was singer/songwriter Christa Wells. One of the songs she shared said, "Glory to God, Glory to God. This is how emptiness sings." And the scripture shared that night was Psalm 63, copied below.
Psalm 63 - Praise God Who Satisfies
A Davidic psalm. When he was in the Wilderness of Judah.
1 God, You are my God; I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You; my body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.2 So I gaze on You in the sanctuary to see Your strength and Your glory.3 My lips will glorify You because Your faithful love is better than life.4 So I will praise You as long as I live;at Your name, I will lift up my hands.5 You satisfy me as with rich food; my mouth will praise You with joyful lips.6 When I think of You as I lie on my bed,I meditate on You during the night watches 7 because You are my helper;I will rejoice in the shadow of Your wings.8 I follow close to You;Your right hand holds on to me.9 But those who seek to destroy my life will go into the depths of the earth.10 They will be given over to the power of the sword;they will become the jackals’ prey.11 But the king will rejoice in God;all who swear by Him will boast, for the mouths of liars will be shut.
Anyway, thank you for walking with us during this journey. Your prayers are definitely felt. We expect things to slow down until after Christmas, but we will keep you posted if anything comes up. We wish you a very Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Isaiah 9:6 - For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us,and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Adoption Update 11-15-14

We are very grateful for all of you who have helped us so far!!  Your support and love have been so sweet to us and really a blessing during this emotional season.  Right now,we are just about 40% the way through all our puzzle pieces.  We don't have much of an update right now.  We are still waiting to see situations that we can say yes to, and be considered by the birth mother.  In the meantime we've been doing some adoption training (required  by one of the agencies we are working with).  It's actually been really good talking through some different aspects of things we're learning.  If you're curious - here are the videos we just watched as part of our training:

Hopefully soon we will a more exciting update for you. :)  If not, have a fantastic Thanksgiving!
Thanks for your prayers and support.

Our Next Steps

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.” - Proverbs 16:9

Dear Family and Friends,

We hope that this letter finds you well. We are excited to share with you that we are adopting! Although we always knew that God had called us to adopt, we didn't know it would be our first child. We are grateful however that God has led us to this point and couldn't be more thrilled for what God has planned for us in this season of life.

Let us catch you up with where we are and answer some questions you may be thinking about.  Our home study has been approved and we are waiting for God to show us who He has planned for our family.  We want to adopt an infant from the US and are open to a baby girl or boy. So for our next steps, we will be reviewing adoption situations, descriptions of a birth mother and the baby. Then, once we say yes to a situation, the birthmother will look at our profile book among several others and decide if she wants us to be the adoptive parents.  If she says yes, then we are matched! Then we can share more about our future son or daughter!

We wanted to share all this with you for a few reasons.  We want you to pray for us.  Pray for the
whole process and pray for us to have discernment as we read over the cases that we are presented. Pray for the birth mother, for her health, strength and emotions in making this difficult decision, and for the health of the baby.  Pray for agency workers, lawyers, judge, and many others who will be involved.  But most of all pray that God will show Himself and the beauty of how He has adopted us through our story (Ephesians 1:3-14).

As some of you know and for those that don’t, the domestic newborn adoption expenses can easily cost $30,000 or more.  With that in mind, we are trying to raise a portion of the funds we will need. If you would like to help us with our adoption funds,  we are selling puzzle pieces! The picture of puzzle below is our actual 513 piece puzzle that we had made.  Would you please consider purchasing at least one puzzle piece to help us in this process? Our suggested minimum donation per piece is $20, but any amount helps.   You can visit our AdoptionFunder website to make the donations (tax-deductible).
We will write the names of everyone who purchases a piece on the back of the puzzle. Then we will hang this puzzle in our future child's room. We are excited to one day share with her/him about all these people who loved them before we even knew them!  Thank you for your support and helping us bring Baby Fox home!

You mean a lot to our family, and we are grateful that our child will grow up with such a wonderful community loving on them. We can’t say enough times, Thank You.  As we wait for God’s timing, as patiently as we can muster, we are thankful for your support.  We are excited beyond words and prayerfully ready for our family’s next steps. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have in the meantime.
